Alcohol Free Children (Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free)
An initiative to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15, made up of a unique coalition of current and

that focuses on alcohol use in this age group. It is also the oldest and largest organization of governors'
spouses focused on a single issue.

APIS is an online resource that provides detailed information on a wide variety of alcohol-related policies in the

and regulations. Designed primarily as a tool for researchers, APIS simplifies the process of ascertaining the
state of the law for studies on the effects of alcohol-related policies.
Alcohol Screening
AlcoholScreening.org is a free service of Join Together, a project of the Boston University School of Public
Health. AlcoholScreening.org helps individuals assess their own alcohol consumption patterns to determine if
their drinking is likely to be harming their health or increasing their risk for future harm. Through education and
referral, the site urges those whose drinking is harmful or hazardous to take positive action, and informs all
adults who consume alcohol about guidelines and caveats for lower-risk drinking.
Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP)
ASAP is responsible for providing guidance and leadership on all non-clinical alcohol and other drug policy
issues; developing, establishing, administering and evaluating non-clinical alcohol and other drug (AOD) abuse
prevention, education and training programs; overseeing the Military, Drug Free Workplace and Department of
Transportation biochemical (drug) testing programs, and for the oversight of local Army Substance Abuse

The Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth at Georgetown University monitors the marketing practices of the

Center for Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws
The Mission of the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center is to build leadership capacity and increase
the effectiveness of states and local communities in their efforts to enforce underage drinking laws, prevent

Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
Originally, the mission of the SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving. Today,
the mission has expanded. Students have told us that positive peer pressure, role modeling and environmental
strategies can prevent other destructive decisions and set a healthier, safer course for their lives. And that is
why SADD has become a peer-to-peer education, prevention and activism organization dedicated to
preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking, other drug use, risky and impaired driving,
teen violence and teen suicide.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has established a clear vision for
